Who we are

Two Shores (“Two Shores”, “we”, “us”) operates the website at twoshores.app and the related account and email services from New York, United States. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who we share it with, and the rights you have. For people in the UK and EU, we act as the data controller for that information.

Questions about privacy, or any request about your data, can go to hello@twoshores.app.

What we store

We keep the smallest amount of information needed to run the service:

  • Your email address, used to sign you in, send purchase receipts and service messages, and (if you ask for it) send the Field Guide and rule-change notes.
  • Purchase and access records: which playbooks or Library subscription you bought and whether they are active. Card details never reach our servers (see Payments).
  • Your saved tool inputs: the answers and checklist ticks you enter in the interactive tools inside playbooks, so they are there when you come back.
  • Your reading progress: which playbook sections you have opened or marked complete.
  • Your preferences: your email settings and a record that you acknowledged our disclosures.

What we do not collect

We do not connect to your bank or brokerage, we do not collect your tax filings, and we do not build a financial profile of you. The free calculators run in your browser; their inputs are not saved unless you are signed in and using them inside a playbook.

How we use your information

To give you access to what you bought, to keep your account and saved work, to send receipts and the service messages you have turned on, to answer your questions, and to keep the product secure and working.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that help us run Two Shores, and only for that purpose:

  • Clerk handles sign-in and accounts, and stores your email and login sessions.
  • Neon hosts the database that holds your account records.
  • Paddle is our payments provider and the seller of record for every purchase; it handles checkout, card details, and tax.
  • Resend delivers our email (receipts, service messages, and the Field Guide).

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights and users.

Payments

Purchases are handled by Paddle as our Merchant of Record. Paddle is the seller for your transaction and processes your payment, so your full card details are held by Paddle and never by us. Paddle's handling of your information is covered by Paddle's privacy notice.

Cookies and analytics

We use the cookies needed to keep you signed in. On public pages we may use privacy-respecting analytics that do not track you across other sites; we do not run analytics on your account pages or inside the paid playbooks.

Your rights and controls

You can download everything we store about you as a JSON file, and permanently delete your account, at any time from your account page. Deleting your account removes your account record and everything attached to it; Paddle keeps its own transaction records where the law requires. You can also change your email preferences there.

Depending on where you live, you have rights to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain uses. To exercise any of these, email hello@twoshores.app. UK and EU users also have the right to complain to a data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).

Data retention and transfers

We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and delete it when you delete your account or ask us to, except where we need to keep limited records to meet legal or accounting requirements. Some of our providers process data in the United States; where that involves personal data from the UK or EU, appropriate safeguards apply.

Children

Two Shores is intended for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, let account holders know.
